This is a translation. The Italian version prevails.
This page explains which cookies meetmysugar.com uses. The controllers are the Operators named in the Privacy Notice. Contact: [email protected].
1. In short
We use only first-party technical cookies, needed to make the site work or to remember a choice you made yourself. We do not use advertising, profiling or statistics cookies, third-party cookies or trackers, or social media buttons or embeds. Fonts are served from our own domain.
2. Full list of cookies
mms_lang: remembers the language version of the site you are reading (for example /it/), so that next time you open the main address you get back to the same language. First-party, not readable by scripts, lifetime 1 year. Holds only a two-letter code.
sb-… (cookies whose names begin with "sb-"): authentication cookies set by our provider (Supabase) when you sign in, to keep you signed in as you browse. Lifetime: the session, renewed while you use the site. Without these cookies you cannot sign in.
mms_in: present only while you are signed in, holds only the value "1" and lets the page show the signed-in menu straight away. Removed when you sign out.
mms_pending: present only between creating an account and clicking the confirmation link received by email. It holds the address the link was sent to, so the confirmation page can name it and resend the email there only. Not readable by scripts, lifetime 1 day, removed after confirmation.
mms_city_pick: remembers the city you chose in the search filters, so your next visit starts from there. First-party, lifetime 1 year. Holds only the numeric code of the city. It is not used to track you.
3. Statistics without cookies
We count visits with Plausible Analytics, running on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and keeps only aggregate data (pages viewed, referring sites, country, device type). It cannot follow you across days or across websites.
4. Content loaded from other services
Some features load content from external services, without cookies: profile photos are served by our storage provider (Supabase); the map loads its background from OpenFreeMap; suggestions in the city field come from Google Maps Platform. These services receive your IP address in order to send the content, as with any website.
5. Why there is no cookie banner
Under Article 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003), which implements Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, and the Italian Data Protection Authority's cookie guidelines of 10 June 2021, technical cookies strictly necessary to provide a service the user has asked for do not require consent. These include cookies that keep you signed in or remember the language or city you chose. We only have to inform you, which is what this page does. If we ever introduce statistics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will first ask for your consent with a proper banner.
6. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block the authentication cookies you cannot stay signed in. If you block mms_lang or mms_city_pick, the site has to guess your language and city again on every visit. Browsing remains possible either way.
